National Institute of Technology (NIT) Puducherry invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Senior Research Fellow (SRF)/Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an ANRF–SERB Core Research Grant (CRG) funded research project in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

• Project Duration: 2 Years

• Initial Appointment: 1 Year (extendable based on performance and availability of funds)

• Funding Agency: Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) – Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Core Research Grant (CRG)

Project Title

Design and Development of Flexible Solar Parabolic Dish Concentrator System with Variable Focal Length for Electrical Power Generation and Potable Water Production using TEG and Seawater

Fellowship

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF):

  • INR 37,000 per month + 8% HRA (for the first two years)

• Senior Research Fellow (SRF):

  • INR 42,000 per month + 8% HRA (for the third year, as per funding agency norms)

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• B.E./B.Tech. in:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Energy Engineering

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Aeronautical Engineering

AND

• M.E./M.Tech. in:

  • Thermal Engineering

  • Solar Energy

  • Renewable Energy

  • Energy Engineering

  • Or any allied discipline

AND

• First Class in both Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

Desirable Skills

Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and experience in:

• Experimental setup development

• Solar energy systems

• Heat transfer

• Thermal engineering

• Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

• ANSYS Fluent

• COMSOL Multiphysics
