The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra has invited applications from eligible Indian nationals for the recruitment of One Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Project Associate-I under an ANRF-funded research project. The project focuses on developing innovative renewable energy solutions by integrating photovoltaic technology with natural evaporative cooling systems.

Project Title

Increasing Power Output and Lifespan of Photovoltaic Panel with Natural Evaporative Cooling Using Earthenware Devices

Project Duration

• Initial appointment for one year

• Extendable annually based on satisfactory performance and project requirements

• The project is sanctioned up to 14 July 2028

Fellowship

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

For candidates qualified through CSIR-UGC NET or GATE:

• INR 37,000 per month (1st & 2nd Year)

• INR 42,000 per month (3rd Year, after successful assessment and upgradation to SRF)

Project Associate-I

For candidates without a National Eligibility Test/GATE qualification:

• INR 30,000 per month (1st & 2nd Year)

• INR 33,000 per month (3rd Year, after successful assessment)

Additional Benefits

• Selected candidates may be considered for Ph.D. admission at NIT Kurukshetra, subject to institute rules.

• Candidates can also apply for regular Ph.D. admission whenever the institute announces admissions.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Full-time B.Tech./B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Production & Industrial Engineering, Energy Science & Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems, or a related discipline.

OR

• Full-time M.Tech./M.E. with specialization in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Science & Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems, or a related discipline.

Additionally, candidates must have:

• Minimum 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA (or equivalent CPI) from a recognized university/institute.

• Final-year M.Tech./M.E. students may also apply, subject to producing the provisional degree certificate before joining.

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be involved in:

• Outdoor experimental research

• Numerical simulation

• Photovoltaic system analysis

• Project implementation and data analysis

• Preparation of technical reports and research publications

• Other research activities assigned under the project
