The Centre for System Design (CSD), National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) Surathkal, has invited applications for multiple project-based positions under the ANRF-funded project titled "Rare Earth Magnet-Free Axial Flux Synchronous, Radial Flux Switched Reluctance Motor and their Controllers for EV Applications." The appointments are purely temporary and will continue up to 31 March 2027. (NITK Surathkal)

Position Details

• Job Location: Mangaluru, Karnataka

Available Positions

1. Project Assistant

• Number of Posts: 05

• Consolidated Salary: INR 27,000 + 20% HRA per month

• Contract Duration: Up to 31 March 2027

2. Scientific Administrative Assistant

• Number of Posts: 02

• Consolidated Salary: INR 24,000 + 20% HRA per month

• Contract Duration: Up to 31 March 2027

3. Project Associate-I

• Number of Posts: 01

• Consolidated Salary: INR 30,000 + 20% HRA per month

• Contract Duration: Up to 31 March 2027

Educational Qualifications

Project Assistant

Candidates should possess:

• B.Tech./M.Tech. in one of the following disciplines:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Electrical & Electronics Engineering

  • Electronics & Communication Engineering

  • Power Electronics

  • Power Systems

  • Control Systems

  • Mechatronics

  • Mechanical Design

  • Thermal Engineering

  • Materials Engineering

  • Or other related disciplines

Scientific Administrative Assistant

Candidates should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Computer Applications

OR

• Three-year Diploma in Engineering and Technology

Project Associate-I

Candidates should possess:

• B.Tech./M.Tech. in:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Electronics Engineering

  • Mechatronics

  • Allied Engineering disciplines

Preferred Skills

Candidates with experience in the following areas will be preferred:

• Embedded C Programming

• MATLAB

• PCB Design

• CAD Software (SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.)

• ANSYS / Altair HyperWorks

• Machine Design

• Embedded Systems

• Arduino & ESP-based systems

• Motor Control

• LabVIEW

• Dynamometer Testing

• Electric Vehicle (EV) Technologies

• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills

Additional Benefits

• Opportunity to work on an ANRF-funded Electric Vehicle research project.

• Candidates may be considered for Ph.D./M.Tech. (Research) at NITK Surathkal, subject to institute norms.

• Consolidated salary includes accommodation facility as per project provisions.
