Project Title

Design, Development and Field Deployment of a Digital Twin of Indian Power Grid at State Level (Gujarat) for Advanced Grid Stability, Security and Resilience of Renewable Energy Integrated Power System

About the Project

The project is a collaborative research initiative involving NIT Durgapur, IIT Bombay, and Gujarat State Utilities.

It aims to design, develop, and field-deploy a digital twin of the Gujarat power grid to address challenges related to:

• High renewable-energy penetration

• Grid stability and security

• Resilience against extreme events

• Real-time power-grid monitoring

• SCADA, PMU, and AMI-based data analysis

• Renewable-energy-integrated power systems

Fellowship

First and Second Year:
INR 37,000 per month plus HRA

Third Year:
INR 42,000 per month plus HRA, subject to upgradation to Senior Research Fellow based on performance.

HRA will be provided according to institute norms.

Expected Responsibilities

The selected candidate may be required to:

• Support the development of digital-twin models for power-grid systems

• Analyse real-time grid data

• Work with renewable-energy and power-system datasets

• Conduct simulations and stability studies

• Contribute to research reports and publications

• Coordinate with project partners and utility stakeholders

• Assist with field deployment and validation activities
