National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an ANRF-sponsored research project in the Department of Electrical Engineering. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in advanced materials research and high-temperature superconducting power systems.

Project Title

Indigenous Development of Future Generation Electrical Insulating Materials for High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) Power Cables

Fellowship

• INR 37,000 + HRA per month (1st & 2nd Year)

• INR 42,000 + HRA per month (3rd Year)

• Accommodation inside the NIT Durgapur campus is subject to availability. If accommodation is provided, HRA will not be applicable.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• M.E./M.Tech./M.S. or an equivalent degree in:

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Material Science

  • Nanotechnology

  • Polymer Engineering

  • Or a related discipline

• Minimum 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA from a recognized institute/university.

Desirable Skills

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Experience in nanomaterial fabrication and characterization.

• Hands-on knowledge of OriginPro, MATLAB, and Python.

• Strong research aptitude in advanced electrical materials.

Note: Selected candidates may be encouraged to register for the Ph.D. programme under the project.

Tenure

• Initial appointment is temporary and extendable up to 3 years based on satisfactory performance and project requirements.
