The National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NIT Durgapur) has invited applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Chemical Engineering under a funded research project.

Position Overview

Eligibility Criteria

Option 1:

• M.E./M.Tech in:

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Chemical Technology

  • Biotechnology / Nanotechnology

  • Mechanical / Biochemical / Environmental Engineering

  • Bioprocess Engineering / Microbiology or related fields

• Minimum 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks

Option 2:

• M.Sc in:

  • Biotechnology / Chemistry / Environmental Science / Microbiology

• With:

  • Valid NET/GATE score

  • Minimum 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks

Additional:

• Candidates qualified through national-level exams (DST, DBT, IITs, IISc, IISER etc.) also eligible

• Preference for candidates with:

  • Experience in wastewater treatment

  • Publications in relevant fields

• Selected candidate must register for PhD under the project

Salary / Fellowship

Accommodation:

• On-campus accommodation may be provided (subject to availability)

• If accommodation is provided, HRA may not be applicable

Duration

• Total duration: 3 Years

• Based on performance and funding availability

Work on AI-based wastewater treatment systems

• Conduct laboratory experiments and data analysis

• Assist in research publications and reports

• Collaborate with project team and PI

• Pursue PhD alongside project work
