The National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NIT Durgapur) invites applications from Indian nationals for the position of Senior Project Associate-I under an ANRF-sponsored research project in the Department of Chemical Engineering. The project focuses on developing sustainable membrane technologies for lithium and water recovery from aqueous streams.

Position Details

• Project Duration: 21 Months (extendable up to 24 months based on work progress)

Project Title

Design-to-Scale Framework for Solar-Assisted Membrane Systems for Lithium and Water Recovery from Lithium Mine Aqueous Streams: A Proof-of-Concept Study with Industry-Supported Deployment Strategy

Fellowship

• Emoluments: INR 57,000 per month

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.

• Specialization in one or more of the following areas:

  • Membrane synthesis

  • Membrane characterization

  • Membrane modelling

  • Membrane process design and applications

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work on:

• Development of membrane systems for recovery of lithium and water using Solar-Driven DCMD systems

• Membrane process modelling and optimization

• Preparation of technical reports and documentation

• Writing and publishing research articles

• Supporting project implementation and research activities
