The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an ANRF-SERB-IRG sponsored research project in the Department of Mathematics. Project Title

A Study on Compactly Supported, Symmetric and Orthogonal Multiwavelets Using Matrix Polynomial Theory

Duration of Engagement

• Initial appointment for one year on a contract basis

• Extendable for up to two additional years based on:

  • Performance of the candidate

  • Availability of project funds

Fellowship

• Consolidated Fellowship: INR 37,000 per month + 20% HRA

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• A Master’s degree (M.Sc./M.Tech./MS or equivalent) in:

  • Mathematics

  • Applied Mathematics

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering

• Minimum 60% marks or CGPA of 6.0/10

• Must have qualified CSIR-UGC JRF/NET or GATE

Required Skills and Knowledge

Candidates should have:

• Programming knowledge in MATLAB, Python, or LaTeX

• Sound understanding of:

  • Linear Algebra

  • Matrix Theory

  • Functional Analysis

  • Real Analysis

  • Fourier Analysis

• Excellent oral, written, and communication skills

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates possessing:

• M.Phil. degree

• Basic knowledge of Wavelet Theory
