The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) invites applications for the position of Senior Project Associate in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) under a Department of Telecommunications (DoT) funded project under the TTDF Scheme.

Project Details

Project Title:
6G for Future Railway Mobile Communication System: Upper Layers Enhancements

Sponsoring Agency:
Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India, under the TTDF Scheme.

Duration of Engagement

• Initial appointment for 6 months on a contract basis

• Extendable for up to 2 years based on satisfactory performance and project requirements.

Fellowship

• Consolidated Salary: INR 57,000 per month + 20% HRA

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should satisfy any one of the following:

Option 1

• Four-year Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or allied disciplines from a recognised university.

• Minimum four years of R&D experience in industrial/academic institutions, S&T organisations, or scientific activities and services.

Option 2

• Master's degree in Engineering or Technology with specialisation in:

  • Telecommunications

  • Signal Processing

  • Allied disciplines

• Minimum two years of R&D experience in industrial/academic institutions, S&T organisations, or scientific activities and services.

Option 3

• Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) from a recognised university with specialisation in:

  • Telecommunications

  • Signal Processing

  • Allied disciplines

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Experience or background in wireless networks

• Knowledge of optimization techniques

• Experience in error control coding

• Expertise in wireless mobility enhancements

• Hands-on experience using 5G technology stacks

• Strong academic background in Communication and Signal Processing
