The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) invites applications for the engagement of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Project Associate-I (PA-I) on a contractual basis for an ANRF-sponsored research project in the Department of Civil Engineering. The project focuses on the seismic performance of special steel moment-resisting frames designed according to Indian standards.

Project Title

Seismic Response Modification Factors (SRMFs) for Special Steel Moment Resisting Frames (SSMRFs) Designed as per Indian Standards

Duration of Engagement

• Initial appointment for 06 months on a contract basis

• Extendable based on:

  • Performance of the candidate

  • Availability of project funds

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• M.E./M.Tech. in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related disciplines

• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade

• Preference will be given to candidates with valid GATE/NET qualification

Fellowship

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• INR 37,000 per month (Basic) + 20% HRA

• Applicable for candidates possessing GATE/NET qualification

Project Associate-I (PA-I)

• INR 30,000 per month (Basic) + 20% HRA

• Applicable for Non-GATE/NET qualified candidates

Important Instructions

• Applicants employed in government or other organisations must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of the interview.

• The institute reserves the right to relax qualifications and experience requirements for exceptionally meritorious candidates.

• The decision of the selection committee shall be final, and canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.

• The selected candidate will not be permitted to undertake any regular or part-time employment during the project tenure.

• Selected candidates may be permitted to register for a PhD programme at NIT Calicut, subject to institute norms.

• No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
