Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification:

  • B.E./B.Tech in relevant disciplines
    AND

  • M.Tech / M.E. / M.Sc (or equivalent) in:

    • Remote Sensing / Geoinformatics

    • Earth System Science / Atmospheric Science

    • Hydrology / Water Resources Engineering

    • Civil Engineering (Water Resources specialization)

    • Statistics / Applied Mathematics

    • Computer Science (AI/ML, Image Processing)

Minimum Marks:

  • 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA (General/OBC/EWS)

  • Relaxation as per Government norms (SC/ST/PwD)


Desirable Qualifications / Experience

Candidates with any of the following will be preferred:

  • CSIR-UGC NET (JRF/LS) / UGC-NET

  • Valid GATE score

  • Selection through national-level exams (DST/ISRO norms)

  • Experience in microwave remote sensing (SAR data – L-band, S-band)

  • Familiarity with NISAR mission data / Sentinel-1 / SMAP datasets

  • Strong background in:

    • Stochastic modelling / signal processing

    • Machine learning / data-driven modelling

  • Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or R

  • Experience with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS)


Fellowship

  • As per ISRO/DST norms (typically ₹37,000 + HRA for first two years, ₹42,000 in third year based on performance)
