National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. This ANRF-sponsored research project focuses on developing advanced computational models for targeted drug delivery against viral respiratory disorders, integrating high-fidelity simulations with AI/ML techniques.

Remuneration & Tenure

• Fellowship Amount: * Year 1 & 2: INR 37,000/- per month.

  • Year 3: INR 42,000/- per month.

• Tenure: Maximum 03 Years (Project concludes on 25 March 2029).

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: * First-class M.E./M.Tech in Thermal, Aerospace, Chemical, Biotechnology, Medical Engineering, or related branches.

  • OR First-class B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Biotechnology, Medical Engineering, or related branches.

  • OR First-class M.Sc. in Mathematics or Physics.

• National Eligibility Requirement: Candidates must be selected through National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR-UGC NET (including Assistant Professorship), GATE, or via selection processes conducted by Central Government Departments and Agencies (e.g., DBT, DST, MoE, IIT, IISc, etc.).

• Desirable Skills: Strong foundation in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Expertise in applied mathematics (numerical analysis, differential equations), AI/ML modeling, and scientific programming using Python or MATLAB.
