The Department of Applied Mechanics, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad, Prayagraj invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on a contractual basis under a sponsored research project funded by HEPMRL. The project focuses on high strain rate material characterization, computational mechanics, and advanced simulation techniques.

Project Title:
Design of Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar and Generation of High Strain Rate Data for Various Materials

Project Duration:
Initially on contract for a period of up to three years, extendable based on project continuation, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance.

Fellowship

INR 37,000 per month + 18% HRA
(Fixed fellowship amount based on qualification and experience)

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• M.Tech. in:

  • Applied Mechanics

  • Engineering Mechanics and Design

  • Computational Mechanics

  • Design (Mechanical Engineering)

  • Materials and Metallurgy

With

• B.Tech. in:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Aerospace Engineering

  • Civil Engineering

  • Design Engineering

  • Equivalent disciplines

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates having:

• Knowledge of Abaqus, Ansys/LS-Dyna, and related programming tools.

• Experience in:

  • Impact and blast simulations

  • High strain rate testing and characterization

  • Experimental mechanics

  • Numerical modelling and simulation

Important:
Applicants must attach a 2-page summary of their work, including:

• Research experience

• Publications (if any)

• Exposure to modelling and simulation using Abaqus, Ansys, or LS-Dyna
