The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal has invited applications for the post of Project Associate-I under a DBT-funded research project at the Department of Microbiology, Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a background in Life Sciences to contribute to cutting-edge research in infectious disease diagnostics.

Position Details

• Position: Project Associate-I

• Institution: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal

• Department: Department of Microbiology, Kasturba Medical College (KMC)

• Project: Development of Monoclonal Antibody Based Point-of-Care Test Targeting Burkholderia pseudomallei Membrane Proteins for Rapid Detection of Melioidosis

• Duration: Initially for 1 year (extendable based on project performance and requirements)

• Monthly Remuneration: INR 31,000

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess any one of the following:

• M.Sc./M.Tech. in Life Sciences (Microbiology/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology) with 1 year of experience in Molecular Biology, Proteomics, or Bioinformatics.

• B.Sc. in Life Sciences.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Experience in Molecular Biology.

• Hands-on experience in Protein Purification.

• Ability to assist with day-to-day laboratory activities related to the project.

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will assist in laboratory research activities associated with the DBT-funded project, including molecular biology experiments, protein purification, and other routine project-related tasks.
