Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) – Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG) funded research project at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal.

The project focuses on developing innovative fungal biomass-based adsorbent systems for low-temperature carbon capture applications.

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • CSIR-UGC NET qualification

  • GATE qualification

  • Any national-level examination recognized by ANRF

  • Experience in fungal cultivation

  • Biomass processing and valorization

  • Carbon capture and adsorption studies

  • Material characterization techniques

  • Environmental biotechnology

  • Engineering research and scientific writing


Duration of Engagement

  • Initial appointment for 1 year

  • Extendable annually based on satisfactory performance

  • Maximum project duration: 3 years


Fellowship / Remuneration

For candidates qualified through CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or any ANRF-recognized national-level examination:

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

INR ₹37,000 per month + HRA
(For the first two years)

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

INR 42,000 per month + HRA
(For the third year, subject to satisfactory performance and approval as per ANRF norms)
