Jadavpur University Research Associate-I Recruitment 2026 – Walk-in Interview for SERB-Funded Molecular Genetics Project
The Department of Life Science and Biotechnology, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, has announced a walk-in interview for the recruitment of one Research Associate-I (RA-I) under a SERB-funded research project titled “Investigation of the role of nuclear mRNA Surveillance in the regulation of Telomere Length and Telomere Induced Silencing in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.”
The position is purely temporary and will be under the supervision of Prof. Biswadip Das, Principal Investigator.

Essential Qualification
Candidates must possess:
Ph.D./MD/MS/MDS or an equivalent degree.
Minimum 3 years of research and teaching experience.
At least one research paper published in an SCI-indexed journal.
Eligibility as per SERB guidelines (OM/SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30 January 2019).
Desirable Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with:
Five years or more research experience in:
Molecular Genetics
Eukaryotic Gene Expression
RNA Biology
Research involving the model eukaryote Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Yeast)
Additional Preferred Experience
Candidates having hands-on technical expertise in:
Molecular Genetics experiments
Eukaryotic Gene Expression studies
RNA Biology
Yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) research techniques
will be highly preferred.
Project Overview
The project aims to investigate the role of nuclear mRNA surveillance mechanisms in regulating:
Telomere Length
Telomere-Induced Gene Silencing
using the model organism Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Baker’s Yeast).
