Jawaharlal Nehru University Invites Applications for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Position 2026

The School of Biotechnology, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, invites applications from eligible candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a SERB-funded research project titled "Engineering SbERF37 and SbERF100 expression for yield optimization under constrained environmental conditions in Sorghum." The appointment is purely temporary and offers an excellent opportunity for researchers interested in plant biotechnology and molecular biology.

Position Details

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must possess:

• Master's degree with minimum 60% marks in:

  • Plant Sciences

  • Biotechnology

  • Life Sciences

  • Biochemistry

  • Bioinformatics

• CSIR-UGC NET (or equivalent qualification/fellowship) or fulfilment of DBT/DST guidelines.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Strong theoretical background in Plant Genetic Engineering.

• Research experience in Plant Molecular Biology.

• Experience in Plant Tissue Culture, particularly in monocot plants.

• Consistently good academic record.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 28 years

• Age relaxation will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government of India norms.

Fellowship

• INR 31,000 per month + HRA (as per applicable rules).

Selection Process

• Applications will be shortlisted based on academic qualifications and research experience.

• Only shortlisted candidates will be informed via email regarding the interview schedule.
