Jadavpur University, Kolkata invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a Ministry of Education (MoE)-STARS funded research project in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Eligible candidates with a strong academic background and a valid GATE qualification are encouraged to apply.

"Identification and Control of Instabilities in Natural Circulation Loops (NCL) in Thermal and Nuclear Power Plants Using Dynamical Systems Theory"

The selected candidate will work under the supervision of:

Position Details

Post Name: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Number of Vacancies: 01 (One)

Nature of Appointment: Purely Temporary

Fellowship

• INR 37,000 per month

• House Rent Allowance (HRA) as applicable

Project Duration

The appointment will continue till the termination of the project, subject to the availability of funds.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications with a minimum of 60% marks:

• B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

• B.E./B.Tech. in Power Engineering

• B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering

• B.E./B.Tech. in Nuclear Engineering

• B.E./B.Tech. in Automobile Engineering

OR

• M.E./M.Tech. in the above-mentioned disciplines

Additionally, candidates must have qualified GATE.

Desirable Knowledge

Preference will be given to candidates having knowledge of:

• Fluid Mechanics

• Heat Transfer

• Two-Phase Flow

• Computer Programming

Age Limit

• Maximum 30 years as on the closing date.

• Age relaxation of up to 5 years is applicable for SC/ST/Women/OBC/Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates as per rules.

Selection Process

• Candidates will be shortlisted based on their applications.

• Shortlisted applicants will be informed about the interview date and time through email.

• Candidates must produce all original documents during the interview.

• Incomplete applications or applications without supporting documents are liable to be rejected.

• No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
