The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati has invited applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) sponsored research project in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.

System-Aware Nudging for Sustainable Transport: Dynamic Human Behaviour in Networked Mobility System

Fellowship

  • Consolidated Salary: INR 37,000 per month + HRA

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Master's degree in any of the following disciplines:

  • Urban/Transportation Planning

  • Public Policy

  • Data Science

  • Statistics

  • Computer Science

  • Artificial Intelligence

  • Cognitive Science

  • Or any other relevant discipline from a recognized institution

Additionally, candidates must:

  • Fulfil the DST norms for Junior Research Fellowship.

  • Candidates from non-CFTIs must have qualified GATE/CSIR-UGC NET/UGC-NET or any other national-level examination conducted by Central Government departments/agencies with a minimum of 60% marks.

Age Relaxation:

  • OBC/EWS: 3 years

  • SC/ST/PwD: 5 years

Project Overview

The selected candidate will work on an interdisciplinary research project that aims to understand how information, incentives, and behavioural interventions influence travel decisions and contribute to sustainable transport systems.

The research combines insights from urban and transportation planning, behavioural science, and artificial intelligence to develop innovative approaches for analysing and predicting travel behaviour in complex urban environments.
