The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Research Associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering. The appointment is offered under a research project funded by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy through the National Green Hydrogen Mission.

The appointment may be extended for up to two years based on satisfactory performance and project requirements.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
A PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Chemistry or an allied discipline.
A good publication record in reputed journals.
At least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 in all qualifying degrees.
SC/ST candidates must have at least 55% marks or a CGPA of 6.0.
Experience in material synthesis and handling research projects.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit is 35 years.
Desirable Experience
Preference may be given to candidates with:
Practical experience in handling experimental setups and conducting experiments.
Experience in collecting and analysing experimental data.
Knowledge of catalyst-characterisation techniques such as BET, XRD, TPX, TGA, XPS, Raman, SEM and TEM.
Experience in reaction kinetics and modelling.
An engineering background and relevant industrial experience.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
Collect, screen and analyse raw materials.
Undertake the synthesis and characterisation of heterogeneous catalysts.
Perform experiments under optimised process conditions.
Analyse and interpret experimental data.
Monitor the quality and quantity of the products generated.
Contribute to scaling up the overall hydrogen-production process.
Remuneration
The selected candidate will receive:
INR 58,000 per month
HRA, wherever applicable
