The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has invited applications from eligible Indian nationals for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under a DST-sponsored research project in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Position Overview

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess GATE qualification (mandatory) along with any one of the following:

Option 1

• B.Tech./M.Tech. in:

  • Metallurgy

  • Materials Science & Engineering

  • Equivalent discipline

Option 2

• M.Sc. in:

  • Materials Science

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • Allied disciplines with Mathematics at the undergraduate level

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

• Conduct laboratory experiments.

• Perform material characterization and detailed analysis.

• Develop prototypes for recovery and recycling of metal values from spent solar panels.

• Work under the guidance of the Principal Investigator on project deliverables.

Fellowship & Benefits

• INR 37,000 per month

• Opportunity to work on a DST-funded research project.

• Possibility of enrolling in a Ph.D. programme at IIT Roorkee, subject to performance and institute regulations.
