Project Title
Prototype Development of Self-Powered Smart Insulator Units for High Voltage Distribution Networks Using Triboelectric Energy Harvesting
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
Develop self-powered smart insulator prototypes using triboelectric energy harvesting.
Test the electrical, mechanical, and environmental performance of the developed systems.
Integrate sensors and wireless monitoring technologies for real-time condition assessment.
Assist in research activities, technical documentation, and publication of research outcomes.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification
First Class B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
Valid GATE qualification.
Desirable Qualification
First Class M.E./M.Tech. in High Voltage Engineering or Power System Engineering.
Valid GATE qualification.
Fellowship
JRF: INR 37,000 per month (for the first two years)
SRF: INR 42,000 per month (for the third year, as per project norms)
Additional Information
The appointment is initially for the duration of the project (3 years).
The selected candidate will be encouraged to register for the Ph.D. programme at IIT Roorkee, subject to institute rules and regulations.
