The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, Department of Chemical Engineering, invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) sponsored research project. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in sustainable materials, energy storage, and advanced graphite-based technologies. Candidates selected for the position may also receive an opportunity for Ph.D. admission at IIT Roorkee, subject to institute norms.

Position Details

Project Title

Sustainable Green Synthesis of Graphite Powder for Next Generation Energy Devices from Agro Residues

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• B.E./B.Tech. and/or M.E./M.Tech. in:

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Materials Science

  • or allied engineering disciplines

• Valid GATE score

Desirable

• Hands-on experience in:

  • Material synthesis

  • Material characterization

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Synthesizing graphite using thermochemical processes.

• Characterizing the developed products using appropriate analytical techniques.

• Fabricating energy devices and conducting performance testing.

Fellowship & Benefits

• INR 37,000 per month + HRA
