IIT Roorkee Recruitment 2026 | Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under ANRF-Funded Project

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, Department of Polymer and Process Engineering, Saharanpur Campus, invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an ANRF-sponsored research project. The project focuses on the development of sustainable biomass-derived aerogels for advanced thermal and acoustic insulation in modern construction applications.

Position Details

Project Title

Climate-Responsive, Scalable Biomass Derived Aerogels with Tunable Biodegradability for Advanced Thermal and Acoustic Insulation in Sustainable Architecture (BIO-INSULATE).

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess any one of the following:

• M.Tech. with GATE qualification in:

  • Polymer Engineering

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Biotechnology

  • Materials Science

  • Rubber Technology

  • Nano Technology

  • Environmental Science

  • or related disciplines

OR

• M.Sc. in:

  • Chemistry

  • Polymer Chemistry

  • Industrial Chemistry

  • Materials Chemistry

  • or allied disciplines

Candidates applying through the M.Sc. route must possess a valid GATE or NET qualification.

Fellowship & Benefits

• Fellowship of INR 37,000 per month + HRA (as applicable).

• Opportunity to work on an ANRF-funded interdisciplinary research project.

• Access to advanced research facilities at IIT Roorkee.

• Selected candidate may receive an opportunity for Ph.D. admission, subject to institute norms and eligibility.
