The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, Saharanpur Campus invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF-I) under an ANRF-funded research project in the Department of Polymer and Process Engineering.

Project Details

Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF-I)

Institute: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, Saharanpur Campus

Department: Polymer and Process Engineering

Project Title: Climate-Responsive, Scalable Biomass Derived Aerogels with Tunable Biodegradability for Advanced Thermal and Acoustic Insulation in Sustainable Architecture (BIO-INSULATE)

Funding Agency: Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India

Project Duration: 4 Years

Fellowship

• INR 37,000 per month + HRA (as applicable)

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must possess any one of the following qualifications:

• M.Tech. with GATE qualification in:

  • Polymer Engineering

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Biotechnology

  • Materials Science

  • Rubber Technology

  • Nanotechnology

  • Environmental Science

OR

• M.Sc. in:

  • Chemistry

  • Polymer Chemistry

  • Industrial Chemistry

  • Materials Chemistry

  • Allied disciplines

Note: Candidates applying with an M.Sc. degree must have qualified GATE or NET.

Job Description

The selected candidate will work as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the ANRF-sponsored BIO-INSULATE project focused on developing sustainable biomass-derived aerogels for advanced thermal and acoustic insulation applications.

Selection Process

• Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the interview schedule via email.

• Candidates must produce original educational and experience certificates during the interview for verification.

• Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates with equal qualifications and experience.

• No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.

Additional Opportunity

The selected candidate may receive an opportunity to pursue a Ph.D. at IIT Roorkee based on institute norms and performance.
