The Centre of Excellence in Disaster Mitigation and Management (CoEDMM), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, has invited applications from Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under an ISRO-National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) sponsored research project.
The project focuses on the use of geospatial techniques and remote sensing technologies to analyze glacial lake dynamics and associated risks in the Himalayan region of Ladakh under changing climatic conditions.

Project Title
“Comprehensive Analysis of Glacial Lake Dynamics in Ladakh and its Associated Risk Under Changing Climatic Condition Using Geospatial Techniques.”
The project is being undertaken as a collaborative research initiative under the National Information System for Climate and Environmental Studies (NICES) programme of NRSC, ISRO.
Fellowship
Junior Research Fellow (JRF): INR 37,000 per month + HRA
Senior Research Fellow (SRF): INR 42,000 per month + HRA

Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will contribute to:
Analysis of glacial lake dynamics in the Himalayan region.
Assessment of climate change impacts on glacial lake formation and associated hazards.

Spatial Modelling Techniques
Preparation of scientific reports, research outputs, and project deliverables.
Collaboration with researchers under the ISRO-NRSC NICES programme.
