The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has invited applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an ANRF-funded research project in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering. Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • Master’s degree in:

    • Biotechnology

    • Microbiology

    • Life Sciences

    • Or any allied area of Biological Sciences

  • Minimum 60% marks in qualifying degree.

  • Must have qualified:

    • GATE, or

    • CSIR-UGC NET


Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be involved in advanced research activities including:

  • Molecular Biology techniques

  • Gene cloning and protein expression

  • Molecular virology studies

  • cDNA preparation

  • RT-PCR analysis

  • Mammalian cell culture techniques

  • In-vitro cell-based viral assays

  • Virus propagation and quantification studies

  • Protein production and purification (desirable)


Fellowship & Benefits

  • Monthly Fellowship: INR 37,000 + 10% HRA
