The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna invites applications from eligible candidates for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Senior Research Fellow (SRF) positions under a research consultancy project sponsored by BRPNNL, Government of Bihar. The project focuses on Structural Safety Audit of Bridges and the Development of a Bridge Information and Management System.

Project Title: Structural Safety Audit of Bridges and the Development of a Bridge Information and Management System

Duration

• Initial appointment for 6 months.

• Extension based on satisfactory performance and continuation of the project.

Fellowship

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• INR 37,000 per month + HRA (as applicable)

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

• INR 41,000 per month + HRA (as applicable)

Note: Accommodation within IIT Patna may be provided, subject to availability and approval.

Essential Qualifications

For Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Candidates should possess any one of the following:

• M.Tech./M.Sc./M.E./B.Tech.-M.Tech. Dual Degree in:

  • Structural Engineering

  • Geotechnical Engineering

  • Civil Engineering

  • Soils and Foundation Engineering

OR

• B.Tech./M.Tech. Dual Degree in Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Civil Engineering

OR

• B.Tech. in Civil Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience.

For Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

Candidates should possess:

• M.Tech./M.Sc./M.E./B.Tech.-M.Tech. Dual Degree in:

  • Structural Engineering

  • Geotechnical Engineering

  • Civil Engineering

  • Soils and Foundation Engineering

with more than 2 years of relevant experience

OR

• B.Tech. in Civil Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience.

Research Area

The selected candidates will work on:

• Structural Safety Audit of Bridges

• Bridge Information Management System (BIMS)

• Civil and Structural Infrastructure Assessment

• Bridge Engineering Research and Consultancy
