Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur invites applications for two Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) positions under sponsored research projects. Candidates with relevant engineering backgrounds, valid NET/GATE qualifications, and research interest in water resources or additive manufacturing are encouraged to apply.

Available Positions

Position 1: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Project Title

Climate Change and Water Resources Perspective Analysis of Ken-Betwa River Basins of Bundelkhand Region

Prof. Ashok Mishra

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering or

• Master's degree with specialization in:

  • Land & Water Resources Engineering

  • Soil & Water Conservation Engineering

  • Irrigation & Drainage Engineering

  • Water Resources Development & Management

  • Water Resources Engineering

Applicants must have qualified through CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or other national-level examinations prescribed by funding agencies.

Desirable Experience

Preference will be given to candidates having experience in:

• Hydrological and water resources modelling

• Climate change studies

• GIS & Remote Sensing

• Programming using MATLAB, Python or R

• SWAT Hydrological Model (preferred)

Position 2: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Project Title

Machine Learning Guided 3D Printing of Self-Healing Sustainable Concrete from Waste Materials

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Civil Engineering

Applicants must be selected through CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or equivalent national-level examinations accepted by the funding agency.

Desirable Qualification

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Prior knowledge of additive manufacturing methods and systems.

Note: The selected candidate will have the opportunity to pursue Ph.D. at IIT Kharagpur.
