The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad has invited applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an ANRF-funded research project. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a background in Chemistry and an interest in fluorescence spectroscopy, organic synthesis, and bioimaging research.

Project Title

Tunable Fluorescent Organic Nanoparticles Based on the Scaffold of a Single Benzene-Based Fluorophore, 5-(tert-Butyl)-2-hydroxy-1,3-isophthaldehyde, for Enhanced Emission, White Light Generation and Bioimaging: Syntheses and Spectroscopic Studies

Project Duration

The appointment is temporary and will continue till 13 March 2029 or until the completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

Fellowship

• INR 37,000 per month

• HRA admissible for candidates staying outside the campus.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

• M.Sc. in Chemistry with First Class or at least 60% marks / 6.0 CGPA (if the class system is not followed).

• Valid CSIR-UGC NET (including LS) or GATE qualification.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates having:

• Experience in organic synthesis.

• Hands-on experience with absorption spectrophotometer, fluorimeter, and time-resolved fluorescence instruments.

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work on:

• Development of methodology for fluorescent probe synthesis.

• Synthesis and characterization of target probe molecules.

• Spectroscopic studies and evaluation of probe applicability.

• Assisting in the timely execution of the project under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.

Age Limit

Age relaxation will be applicable as per ANRF and Government of India norms for eligible categories.
