Project Title
Optimizing Dissimilar WAAM Ti6Al4V–Ti6Al2Sn4Zr2Mo0.1Si for Aerospace Structural Performance

Project Overview
The project focuses on investigating the microstructure, mechanical behaviour, and structural integrity of dissimilar Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) fabricated titanium alloys for aerospace applications.
The selected candidate will work on:
Characterisation of microstructures using EBSD, SEM, and optical microscopy
Conducting tensile, fatigue, and fracture studies
Performing thermodynamic and kinetic simulations using software such as Thermo-Calc and DICTRA
Developing crystal plasticity modelling approaches
Contributing to advanced research in additive manufacturing and aerospace materials
Selected candidates may also be allowed to enrol in the Ph.D. programme at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, subject to fulfilling institute requirements.
Essential Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
in any of the following disciplines:
Metallurgical Engineering
Materials Science & Engineering
Production Engineering
Manufacturing Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Other relevant disciplines
Desirable Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates having:
Prior research experience
Knowledge of additive manufacturing
Experience in microscopy and materials characterisation techniques
Familiarity with mechanical testing methods
Fellowship
INR 37,000 per month + HRA
Age Limit
Maximum Age: 35 Years
