Project Overview
The OASIS (Overtaking Assistance System in Indian Scenario) project aims to develop intelligent driver-assistance solutions tailored to Indian road conditions. The project integrates transportation engineering, sensor technologies, computer vision, and artificial intelligence to enhance road safety and driver decision-making.
Fellowship and Tenure

Essential Qualifications
Candidates should possess any one of the following:
B.E./B.Tech. degree in Civil Engineering with a valid GATE score;
OR
M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Transportation Engineering or another relevant specialization.
Desirable Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
GPS-based vehicle and traffic data collection
Computer Vision
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Machine Learning (ML)
Sensor technologies and data analytics
Roles and Responsibilities
The selected JRF will be expected to:
Conduct field surveys and collect traffic data on rural highways.
Assist in the instrumentation of vehicles with cameras, GPS devices, and other sensors for naturalistic driving studies.
Process, manage, and analyse large-scale video, sensor, and traffic datasets.
Develop, calibrate, and validate statistical and machine-learning models related to overtaking behaviour, driver decision-making, and road safety.
Support the design and development of AI-based overtaking assistance algorithms using computer vision, deep learning, and sensor-fusion techniques.
Assist in implementing, integrating, and testing prototype systems on embedded computing platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson Nano.
Prepare technical reports, research manuscripts, project documentation, presentations, and dissemination materials.
Coordinate with stakeholders, government agencies, and field personnel during data collection and system validation activities.
Perform additional project-related tasks assigned by the Principal Investigator.
