The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore invites applications from interested and motivated candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) funded research project in the Department of Chemical Engineering.

Project Title
Dual-atom catalyst on defect-engineered supports for direct CO₂ valorization to olefins via Fischer-Tropsch pathway

Project Overview
The selected candidate will work on an advanced research project focused on developing innovative catalytic materials for sustainable carbon utilization. The research aims to design and investigate dual-atom catalysts anchored on defect-engineered metal oxide supports for the conversion of carbon dioxide into value-added olefins through the Fischer-Tropsch process.
Job Responsibilities
The selected JRF will be involved in:
Design, synthesis, and characterization of next-generation dual-atom catalysts.
Catalyst fabrication and experimental studies.
Structural and physicochemical characterization of catalytic materials.
Use of advanced analytical and characterization techniques.
Evaluation and optimization of catalytic performance.
Research data analysis, documentation, and scientific reporting.
Essential Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
First Class Bachelor's Degree in:
Chemical Engineering
Materials Science and Engineering
Chemistry
Physics
Or other related disciplines
First Class qualification will be considered as per IIT Indore norms.
Desirable Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates having:
Experience in material synthesis or inorganic catalyst research.
Hands-on experience with characterization techniques.
Programming, computational, or data analysis skills.
Prior exposure to catalysis, materials engineering, or related research areas.
Fellowship & Benefits
Fellowship: INR 37,000 per month + HRA
HRA will be provided if institute accommodation is not available.
Candidates selected for the Ph.D. program at IIT Indore may receive an extension of fellowship as per institute norms.
Duration of Appointment
Initial appointment will be for 12 months.
Extendable based on satisfactory performance and project requirements.
The selected candidate will be encouraged to register for the Ph.D. program at IIT Indore as per institute norms.
Age Limit
Maximum Age: 35 Years
(Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India and institute rules.)
