IIT Hyderabad Invites Applications for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Position in Civil Engineering

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has invited applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Civil Engineering. The fellowship is offered under an ANRF-funded research project focusing on the transport of nanoatrazine in soil and its environmental implications. The position also provides an opportunity to register for a Ph.D. at IIT Hyderabad, subject to institute norms and performance.

Fellowship & Duration

• Years 1–2: INR 37,000 per month + HRA

• Year 3: INR 42,000 per month + HRA

• Initial Appointment: 3 months, extendable up to 3 years based on performance and funding availability.

• Selected candidates may be considered for Ph.D. enrolment under the same project, subject to institute regulations.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

• First Class Bachelor's Degree (B.Tech./B.E.) in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, Chemical Engineering, or allied disciplines from a recognized university.

• AND

• First Class Master's Degree (M.Tech./M.E.) in Hydraulics, Water Resources, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, Agriculture, or related disciplines.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Strong mathematical, analytical, and programming skills.

• Experience in studying flow and transport through porous media.

• Knowledge of laboratory experiments, modelling, and environmental transport processes.

Job Responsibilities

The selected JRF will be responsible for:

• Conducting laboratory column and lysimeter experiments.

• Performing data analysis and interpretation.

• Developing mathematical models to simulate nanoatrazine transport.

• Preparing technical reports, research publications, conference presentations, and project documentation.

• Assisting in project management and laboratory activities.
