IIT Hyderabad Recruitment 2026: JRF/SRF Vacancy under DRDO-Sponsored Project
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad invites applications for the positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)-sponsored research project titled "Indigenous Development of Large Scale (100 kg) Inert Gas Atomiser". The project is being executed under DIA-COE, IIT (BHU), Varanasi, in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering, IIT Hyderabad.
The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Interested candidates must submit their applications on or before 8 July 2026.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
Candidates should possess:
M.E./M.Tech./M.S. in:

Minimum CGPA of 8.0 out of 10 at both UG and PG levels.
Desirable Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates having:
GATE qualification.

Mechanical Behaviour
Superalloys
Advanced Materials
Modelling and Simulation
Age Limit
Upper Age Limit: 28 Years
Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Government of India rules.
Roles and Responsibilities
The selected JRF/SRF will:
Contribute to the DRDO-funded project on indigenous development of a large-scale inert gas atomiser.
Assist in research related to advanced metallic materials and manufacturing processes.
Perform experimental studies, material characterization, modelling, and simulation.
Support project documentation, technical reporting, and research publications.
Collaborate with the project team to achieve research objectives.
