Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) has invited applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Chemistry. The selected candidate will work on a research project focused on developing innovative antimicrobial solutions to combat ESKAPE pathogens in Earth and space environments.

Project Title

Bioproduct-Based Antimicrobial Substances to Combat ESKAPE Pathogens in Earth and Space Environments: Klebsiella pneumoniae as a Model

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• M.Sc. in Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry / Biochemistry / Biotechnology or a closely related discipline.

• First Class (minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA).

• Qualified in CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or an equivalent national-level examination.

Desirable Skills

Candidates with experience or strong skills in the following areas will be preferred:

• Microbiology

• Biochemistry

• Molecular Biology

• Cell Biology

Fellowship

• INR 48,100 per month (Consolidated)

• 30% House Rent Allowance (HRA), if applicable (approximately INR 11,100 per month).

Appointment Duration

• One year, extendable based on satisfactory performance.
