IIT Gandhinagar Invites Applications for Research Associate-I Position in Electrical Engineering

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar has invited applications for the position of Research Associate-I in the Department of Electrical Engineering. The position is available under the WeGaMon: Wearable Gait Monitor project and offers an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in wearable technologies, embedded systems, AI, and healthcare devices.

• Position: Research Associate-I

• Duration: 10 Months

Salary

• INR 58,000 per month + HRA @ 30% (if institute accommodation is not provided).

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• Ph.D. in Electronics / Electrical / Mechanical / Biomedical Engineering, or an equivalent degree.

• OR at least 3 years of research, teaching, or design experience after M.E./M.Tech., along with at least one SCI journal publication.

• Minimum 60% marks throughout the academic career.

• Qualified in any National Eligibility Test such as CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or equivalent examinations conducted by Central Government Departments/Agencies (DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICMR, IITs, IISc, IISERs, NITs, etc.).

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Experience in healthcare device development.

• Knowledge of wearable technologies, Python, MATLAB, AI, microcontroller programming, signal processing, and embedded systems.

Job Responsibilities

The selected Research Associate-I will:

• Develop a wearable gait monitoring system.

• Design hardware and firmware for wearable devices.

• Develop AI-based algorithms using Python/MATLAB.

• Integrate microcontroller-based platforms.

• Validate the developed system through laboratory and field testing.
