Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Civil Engineering. The position is available under a sponsored research project focusing on the development of photocatalytically self-healing cementitious systems for durable concrete.

Fellowship and Tenure

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

• Postgraduate Degree in Basic Science OR

• Graduate/Postgraduate Degree in a Professional Course selected through a prescribed national-level process.

Applicants qualified through any of the following examinations are eligible:

• CSIR-UGC NET (including Assistant Professorship)

• GATE

• National-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies/institutions, including:

  • DST

  • DBT

  • DAE

  • DOS

  • DRDO

  • MoE

  • ICAR

  • ICMR

  • IISc

  • IISERs

  • NISER and similar institutions

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates having:

• M.Tech./M.E. or B.Tech./B.E. in:

  • Civil Engineering

  • Construction Materials

  • Concrete Technology

• Familiarity with laboratory testing related to civil engineering materials.

• Good technical communication and scientific writing skills.

• Prior experience working on projects related to construction materials and concrete engineering.

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

• Investigate the reactivity of innovative activation industrial wastes for use in cementitious applications.

• Perform laboratory experiments related to:

  • Material characterization

  • Material processing

  • Mechanical property evaluation

  • Durability assessment of cementitious systems

• Assist in developing sustainable and durable concrete technologies.

• Contribute to project reports, publications, and research dissemination activities.
