IIT Guwahati Recruitment 2026: Research Associate-I Position for 6G Terahertz Devices

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has invited applications for the position of Research Associate-I under a sponsored research project titled "Development of Terahertz Topological Devices for 6G Applications" in the Department of Electronics & Electrical Engineering. The appointment is purely temporary and selected candidates will be invited for an online interview.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Ph.D. in Electronics, Physics, or a closely related discipline.

• Hands-on experience in device fabrication and characterization, particularly involving:

  • THz microwave photonic/opto-electronic devices

  • Microfabrication techniques (Wafer thinning, Lithography, Silicon etching (RIE/ICP))

  • Device characterization using VNA/THz measurement systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

The selected Research Associate-I will:

• Conduct research on Terahertz Topological Devices for next-generation 6G communication systems.

• Perform fabrication and characterization of THz devices.

• Work with advanced semiconductor microfabrication techniques.

• Contribute to experimental research, data analysis, and project deliverables.

• Collaborate with the project team to achieve research objectives.

Selection Process

• Applications will be shortlisted based on eligibility and relevant experience.

• Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview via Google Meet.

• The interview is scheduled for 30 June 2026 at 11:00 AM.
