The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, through its Research and Development Section, has invited applications for the post of Project Associate-I under the research project titled “Large-Scale Additive Manufacturing of Advanced Copper Alloys for Strategic Sectors” in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess any of the following qualifications:

• B.E./B.Tech. degree with GATE qualification in:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Production Engineering

OR

• Master’s degree in Manufacturing or Machine Design.

Desired Skills

Candidates should have:

• Knowledge of offline programming techniques.

• Experience working with CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) packages.

• Understanding of the operation of 6+2 robotic arms manufacturing systems.

• Interest in advanced manufacturing technologies and additive manufacturing processes.

Project Overview

The project focuses on the large-scale additive manufacturing of advanced copper alloys for strategic applications. The selected candidate will contribute to research activities involving:

• Advanced manufacturing and additive manufacturing technologies.

• Robotic manufacturing systems.

• CAM-based programming and process development.

• Development of manufacturing methodologies for strategic sectors.

• Research and experimentation in copper alloy processing and manufacturing systems.
