Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai has invited applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an ANRF–Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG) funded research project.

The position is available in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bhilai and focuses on advanced wireless charging technologies for electric vehicles.

Project Title

Fast Wireless Charging of Electric Vehicle with Optimized System Architecture, Control and Coil Design for Improved Efficiency and Power Density

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should fulfil the following academic requirements:

• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least one year of industry or research experience

OR

• M.Tech./M.E./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field

In addition, applicants should fulfil any one of the following conditions:

• Valid GATE qualification

• Qualification in a national-level examination conducted by Central Government departments, agencies or institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IITs, IISc or IISERs

• At least two years of professional experience

Desirable Skills and Attributes

Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate:

• Relevant research or professional experience connected with the project

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision

• Experience in project planning, management and coordination

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to prepare technical reports, presentations and project correspondence

• Ability to coordinate with team members and institutional stakeholders

• Capacity to work under pressure and meet project deadlines

• Experience working in an academic or research environment

Research Area

The selected candidate will contribute to research related to:

• Fast wireless charging systems for electric vehicles

• Power-electronic system architecture

• Wireless power-transfer coil design

• Charging-system control and optimisation

• Improvement of power density and overall system efficiency
