Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a DST-SERB (CRG) sponsored research project in the Department of Petroleum Engineering. This opportunity is ideal for candidates interested in enhanced oil recovery, surfactant synthesis, and petroleum engineering research.

Position Details

Project Title

Synthesis of Bio-Based Zwitterionic Surfactant for Use in Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) at High Reservoir Temperature Conditions

Fellowship

• INR 37,000 per month + Applicable HRA for the first two years.

• Fellowship may be extended for an additional year with INR 42,000 per month + Applicable HRA, subject to satisfactory performance.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• M.E./M.Tech. in Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  OR

• M.Sc. in Chemistry

with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA/OGPA.

Candidates must be GATE/NET qualified.

Desirable Qualification

• Experience or knowledge in relevant research areas related to petroleum engineering, chemistry, surfactants, or enhanced oil recovery.

Project Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work on:

• Synthesis of bio-based zwitterionic surfactants from natural resources.

• Investigation of synthesized surfactants for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) under high-temperature reservoir conditions.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 28 years at the time of appointment.

• Age relaxation will be provided to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Female candidates as per Government of India norms.
