Project Title

Post-Selection Estimation of the Optimal Dose in Adaptive Clinical Design

The selected candidate will contribute to research involving statistical inference, decision-making and dose estimation in adaptive clinical trial designs.

Essential Educational Qualifications

Candidates should preferably possess one of the following qualifications:

• M.Sc. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics or Data Science

• M.Stat.

• M.Tech.

• M.E.

• M.S.

• BS-MS in a relevant discipline

Applicants should have a minimum CPI of 6.5/10, or an equivalent First Class qualification.

Candidates should also possess a valid qualification in one of the following:

• CSIR-UGC NET

• UGC NET under Category I, II or III

• GATE

Eligibility for Engineering Graduates

Candidates with a B.Tech. or B.E. degree in the following or related disciplines may also apply:

• Data Science

• Computer Science and Engineering

• Mathematics and Computing

• Statistics

Such candidates should have a minimum CPI of 6.5/10 and a valid GATE score.

The GATE requirement is exempted for candidates holding a B.Tech. or B.E. degree with a CPI of 8.0/10 or above from IITs, IISc or IISERs.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with a strong academic background in:

• Statistics

• Mathematics

• Data Science

• Biostatistics

• Related quantitative disciplines

Candidates should preferably possess knowledge of:

• Statistical inference

• Probability theory

• Decision theory

• Bayesian methods

• Adaptive clinical trial designs

• Biostatistics

Technical Skills

Experience in statistical computing using the following tools will be advantageous:

• R

• Python

Applicants familiar with adaptive clinical studies, dose-selection methods or statistical modelling in healthcare research may receive preference.

Reservation and Relaxation

Relaxation for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS and PwD categories will be provided according to Government of India and ANRF norms.

Nature of Research Work

The selected Junior Research Fellow may contribute to:

• Development of statistical estimation methods

• Analysis of adaptive clinical trial designs

• Dose-selection and post-selection inference

• Statistical simulations using R or Python

• Literature reviews and research documentation

• Preparation of reports and scholarly publications

• Other project-related research activities
