IISER Thiruvananthapuram Invites Applications for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under ANRF-Funded Project

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram has invited applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) funded research project.

The project focuses on developing advanced Spatial AI technologies for real-to-synthetic 3D world generation, enabling intelligent scene understanding, object reconstruction, and dynamic interaction.

Position Details

• Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Number of Vacancies: 01

• Funding Agency: Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)

• Initial Appointment: 1 Year

• Tenure: Extendable up to 2 years or until completion of the project, based on satisfactory performance

Project Title

Real-to-Synthetic 3D World Generation for Spatial AI: Scenes, Objects and Dynamic Interaction (ReSynth 3D)

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should preferably possess:

• M.Tech./M.E./M.S./BS-MS/M.Sc. in:

  • Mathematics

  • Computer Science

  • Computer Science & Engineering

  • Or related disciplines

with:

• Minimum CPI of 6.5/10 (or equivalent First Class)

• Valid GATE/CSIR-UGC NET/UGC NET (Category I/II/III) qualification

Alternatively:

• B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science & Engineering with:

  • Minimum CPI of 6.5

  • Valid GATE score

GATE Exemption:

Candidates with a B.Tech. CPI of 8.0 or above from IITs, IISc, or IISERs are exempted from the GATE requirement.

Age relaxation for SC/ST/EWS candidates will be applicable as per Government norms.

Desirable Skills

Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of:

• Deep Learning

• Multi-view Geometry

• Computer Vision

• Computer Graphics

• PyTorch

• PyTorch3D

Fellowship

• INR 37,000 per month + HRA
