Overview of Role

IISER Tirupati invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Research Associate-I under a research project in the area of Material Chemistry.

The selected candidate will contribute to research involving low-dimensional metal halide hybrids, multi-excitonic emission, doping/co-doping strategies, crystallography and optical spectroscopy.

“Unravelling design criteria for engineering tunable multi-excitonic emission in low dimensional metal halide hybrids through doping/co-doping synthetic strategy”

Key Responsibilities & Research Scope

The research work is expected to involve areas such as:

• Synthesis and study of low-dimensional metal halide hybrid materials

• Development of doping and co-doping strategies

• Investigation of tunable multi-excitonic emission

• Growth of single crystals of metal halide hybrids

• Crystallographic characterization

• Optical spectroscopy and photophysical studies

• Analysis and documentation of research findings

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Ph.D. degree in Chemical Sciences

Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting the award of the degree are also eligible to apply.

Applicants should provide evidence of having conducted high-quality research during or after their Ph.D. programme.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience in any of the following areas will be highly desirable:

• Growing single crystals of metal halide hybrids

• Crystallography

• UV-Visible spectroscopy

• Photoluminescence spectroscopy

• Time-resolved photoluminescence

• Thermal studies

Remuneration & Fellowship

Candidates with Ph.D. Certificate

INR 58,000 per month + 10% HRA

Candidates Awaiting Ph.D. Degree

INR 42,000 per month + 10% HRA

Candidates awaiting the formal award of their Ph.D. must produce a letter from the competent authority confirming that:

• The Ph.D. thesis has been submitted, and

• The final viva/defence is pending.

A nominal research grant will also be available under the programme.

Tenure

The position is initially temporary for 6 months.

It may be extended for a further 6 months following a performance review, subject to the availability of funds.

Age Limit

Maximum Age: 35 Years as on the closing date of the advertisement.
