The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal has invited applications from eligible Indian nationals for the post of Research Associate under an ANRF-funded research project in the Department of Chemistry. The project focuses on developing advanced redox-active porous organic polymers for next-generation energy storage and conversion technologies.

• Salary: INR 67,000 per month + 20% HRA

Project Overview

The research project aims to develop conjugated porous organic polymers (CPOPs) and nanocomposite-based electrode materials for sodium-ion batteries. The work also involves fabricating CPOP thin films through electropolymerization and surface-initiated electrochemical grafting for photoelectrocatalysis applications.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Ph.D. degree in a relevant field or Ph.D. thesis submitted in the proposed research area.

• Minimum 3 years of research experience in reputed academic institutions or research organizations.

• Strong publication record with first-author research papers in relevant journals.

• Experience in the synthesis of redox-active organic molecules and polymers.

• Expertise in electrochemical analysis is essential.

• M.Sc. or equivalent with at least 60% marks or CGPA ≥ 7.0.

• Maximum age: 40 years at the time of application.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates having:

• Background in Organic or Physical Chemistry.

• Experience handling inert atmosphere techniques and multi-step organic synthesis.

• Expertise in electrochemical characterization.

• Experience in battery fabrication and related experimental techniques.
