The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal has invited applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (Project JRF) under an ANRF-funded research project.

The project focuses on the development of enantioselective catalytic C-C bond-forming reactions and biologically relevant functionalized N-heterocycles, offering an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in organic synthesis and catalytic chemistry research.

Position Details

Project Title

Metallo Protic N-allyl Enammonium Ylides: Design, Catalytic Enantioselective C-C Bond Forming Reactions and Application to Biologically Relevant Functionalized N-Heterocycles

The project aims to develop innovative catalytic methodologies for synthesizing biologically important heterocyclic compounds using advanced enantioselective organic synthesis approaches.

Fellowship

• Monthly Fellowship: INR 37,000 per month

• House Rent Allowance (HRA): 20% of fellowship amount

Duration of Appointment

• Initial Duration: Six months

• Extension: Extendable based on satisfactory performance and project requirements.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

• M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized University/Institute.

• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade.

• Qualified in one of the following:

  • CSIR-UGC NET (JRF/LS)

  • GATE

Mandatory Experience

Candidates must have:

• Prior research experience in multi-step organic synthesis.

Experience in synthetic organic chemistry and laboratory research techniques will be highly beneficial for the position.
