Research Associate Position under Centre for Development Policy and Management (CDPM)

Indian Institute of Management Udaipur has invited applications for the post of Research Associate (RA) under the Centre for Development Policy and Management (CDPM). The project focuses on evaluating CSR-funded educational interventions in Rajasthan government schools and identifying operational bottlenecks to improve educational outcomes.

About CDPM & The Project

The Centre for Development Policy and Management (CDPM) at IIM Udaipur conducts interdisciplinary and policy-relevant research in areas such as:

• Development Studies

• Education Policy

• Rural Livelihoods

• CSR

• Inclusive Development

The project is a two-year study examining the ecosystem of CSR-funded educational interventions in government schools across Rajasthan.

Project Focus Areas

• Mapping CSR–NGO–Government school ecosystems

• Identifying institutional and operational bottlenecks

• Assessing stakeholder impacts

• Developing evidence-based policy recommendations

• Creating case studies for sustainable CSR interventions

The study highlights that despite substantial CSR spending of approximately ₹1,510 crore on education in Rajasthan between 2019 and 2024, foundational learning outcomes remain below national averages.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates with qualifications and experience relevant to research, public policy, development studies, education policy, CSR, or related interdisciplinary domains are encouraged to apply.

Preferred skills may include:

• Research and fieldwork experience

• Data collection and analysis

• Report writing and documentation

• Stakeholder engagement

• Knowledge of education and development sectors

Roles & Responsibilities

The selected Research Associate may be involved in:

• Conducting field research and stakeholder interviews

• Data analysis and report preparation

• Supporting project coordination activities

• Developing case studies and policy recommendations

• Assisting with dissemination of research findings
