The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) invites applications for the position of Senior Research Associate – Jal Jeevan Mission.

The selected candidate will support empirical and applied research in rural drinking water and sanitation, contribute to addressing sectoral challenges, and assist in advancing the objectives of the Har Ghar Jal and ODF Plus initiatives.

Purpose of the Role

The Senior Research Associate will contribute to high-quality research in rural drinking water and sanitation and support related education, capacity-building, training, and outreach activities.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be expected to:

• Assist in conducting research projects and capacity-building exercises

• Work on primary and secondary data collection

• Use statistical tools and Microsoft Excel for data analysis

• Support the preparation of draft reports

• Assist in organising training programmes

• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders

• Prepare periodic reports and presentations

• Perform other duties assigned by the reporting authority

Educational Qualification

Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:

• M.B.A.

• M.A.

• M.S.

• M.Phil. in Economics

Required Skills

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong research and coordination abilities

• Knowledge of data sources and data-collection methods

• Familiarity with statistical tools for analysis and reporting

• Excellent Microsoft Office skills

• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail

• Confidence, maturity, and self-motivation

• Graduation semester-wise marksheets and final degree certificate

• Postgraduation semester-wise marksheets and final certificate, where applicable

• Training certificates, where applicable
