The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) invites applications for the position of Research Assistant to support the development of finance-oriented case studies, study materials and financial data analysis.

The position offers an opportunity for candidates with strong finance, accounting and analytical skills to work in a research-focused environment at IIM Ahmedabad.

Position Details

• Organization: Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA)

• Position: Research Assistant

• Location: IIM Ahmedabad Campus, Gujarat, India

• Mode of Work: In-person

• Appointment Period: 11 months

• Probation: 2 months

• Remuneration: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, as per IIMA guidelines

Required Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• Master’s degree in Business / Finance / Accounting; or

• Completed CA / CMA

• Strong data analysis skills

• Strong written communication skills in English

• Ability to develop spreadsheet-based financial proforma

• Proficiency in financial analysis, including:

  • Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)

  • Financial statement analysis

Candidates without the above-mentioned essential skills will not be considered for the position.

Desirable Skills

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate:

• Ability to work independently with limited instructions

• Strong interest in data analytics

• Knowledge of statistical modelling, including regression analysis

• Familiarity with Machine Learning

• Ability to independently coordinate with internal and external stakeholders

Nature of Work

The selected Research Assistant will primarily contribute to:

• Finance-oriented case study development

• Preparation of academic and study materials

• Financial data analysis

• Spreadsheet-based financial modelling

• Research and analytical assignments related to finance
